Hi, I’m L J Douglas. This is my avatar.

I draw everything using a marker and paper. My designs are NOT made using computer software.

I transfer my image to a linoleum block, carve, and print.

I live in Bloomington, Illinois. I’ve been making art for a long time. My “professional” work is multidisciplinary. I make: prints, artist’s books, animations, and paintings.

Along with my “professional” work, I doodle compulsively. The doodles have nothing to do with the “serious” ideas I bandy about with my “professional” work. (Cough). But rather the floss and flotsam the mind sees in the ordinary light of day. I love the whimsical character and nonsense of these drawings. I’ve wanted to share them in some way and that is what I’m doing here by selecting images from the sketchbooks and turning them into Lino-Cut Prints.

To that end, these prints are affordable and available to a wider audience - than the “professional art world” (another cough).

It is my hope, I reach people who just enjoy art and hand made things. Who have a sense of whimsy and humor. Who want to beautify their surroundings. Who want to share their enjoyment with their friends.
